NZ Post Children's Book Awards Festival

Ned Barraud and I took part in the NZ Post Children's Book Awards Festival. We visited schools in Upper Hutt and Porirua, talking to children from over 15 schools about how At the Beach: explore and discover the New Zealand seashore, which is a finalist in the non-fiction section. We enjoyed meeting children from all of these schools, answering their interesting questions and listening to their ideas.
A creative collage from Windley School
Here is a creative collage inspired by At the Beach, created by a class at Windley School. They also used this to create a Book Trailer. Well done Windley!

Here are some more of their pictures that are on display in Porirua Library.

Also in the Festival, Fifi Colston ran craft workshops on an At the Beach theme, check out her Facebook page for a crafty way to make rock pools and some great examples from the children at Kahurangi School.
