In 2012, my first New Zealand children’s book was published by Craig Potton Publishing (now Potton & Burton). Since then I have had many more titles published, and writing is a significant part of my work portfolio. I am a member of the New Zealand Society of Authors.
I continue to provide consultancy services to publishers and education organisations. I am regularly called upon to judge writing and publishing awards. As a children’s author I enjoy taking part in Writers in Schools and running workshops and activities for children.
My consultancy expertise ranges from project management, through strategy development and advice, to industry research. Clients have included: Whitireia Polytechnic, Craig Potton Publishing, BWB Publishing Trust and Growing Minds Publishing. My background includes deep knowledge of publishing and learning design, as well as project management and business strategy development. View my full profile on Linked In.
My judging roles draw on my publishing background and include:
- CLNZ Non-Fiction Writers’ Awards 2010-2018
- NZ Post Children’s Book Awards 2012
- CLNZ Education Publishing Awards 2010-2011
I write about nature and am actively involved in conservation as a volunteer. I am a member of Forest and Bird, Birds New Zealand, Wellington Botanical Society, Zealandia, the Brook Sanctuary and Friends of Mana Island. Current volunteer projects include: leading tramps and nature walks, monitoring lizards, monitoring pest-traps and bird counts.
